Title: Amy & Roger's Epic Detour
Author: Morgan Matson
Date Released: May 4th, 2010
Pages: 344
Rating: 5 out of 5

Description:
Amy Curry thinks her life sucks. Her mom decides to move from California to Connecticut to start anew—just in time for Amy's senior year. Her dad recently died in a car accident. So Amy embarks on a road trip to escape from it all, driving cross-country from the home she's always known toward her new life. Joining Amy on the road trip is Roger, the son of Amy's mother's old friend. Amy hasn’t seen him in years, and she is less than thrilled to be driving across the country with a guy she barely knows. So she's surprised to find that she is developing a crush on him. At the same time, she’s coming to terms with her father’s death and how to put her own life back together after the accident. Told in traditional narrative as well as scraps from the road—diner napkins, motel receipts, postcards—this is the story of one girl's journey to find herself.

Review:
This has got to be the cutest book ever!  I absolutely loved every single bit of it from the writing to the characters and thought it was, well... EPIC!  I did not want this book to end at all, and when I only had a couple pages left, I tried savoring it as much as I could.  This has totally inspired me to go on a road trip across the United States at least before I die.

I thought that this was definitely a very cool book from start to finish!!!  I absolutely fell in love with Amy and Roger and just about every other character in this book, especially the ones that they met on their epic detour.  Almost everyone they met helped Amy get through her problems and start living life again.  But this book isn't just about Amy, it's also about Roger who's trying to get through problems of his own as well.

It was great how you could really see how Amy was changing into the person that she was before the accident, or maybe even a new person, throughout the trip.  This trip really helped her get her life back on track and I was glad that she was able to.  Roger was pretty awesome and I loved all his doodles and playlists in Amy & Roger's Epic Detour.  The one thing that annoyed me about him was how he was how he sort of obsessed over his ex-girlfriend.  Other than that, he seemed like that kind of guy anyone would want to be friends with because he was kind and caring.

One thing that was really cool about this book was when you got to see pictures and little scraps from their road trip together.  It was really awesome and were the parts that I would look forward to seeing.  I admit... sometimes I'd skip to the next one just to see the pictures... But who wouldn't?  They were just really awesome!  It was kind of made me feel like I was experiencing some parts of the trip with them!

Something that made me jump up and down and run straight to my mom was that this book mentions Pasadena :)  Which I happen to live very close too.  And it also mentions a yogurt shop called 21 Choices, which I have happen to been to before.  (And I had their snickerdoodle yogurt which was really good, btw :P )  So, I just thought that it was really cool getting to read about a familiar place because that doesn't really happen that often :)  I think that I'm overusing the word cool now hahaha...  But this book was just plain cool!

I would totally recommend this to just about every single person I know out there because I personally thought that this book was just way to epic to put into words.  I really hope that Morgan Matson writes another book because I'll be right in line waiting to buy it.  If you're reading this, I recommend that you go out now to either your library or bookstore and get this book!  I loved this and I'm pretty sure that you will too!

Cover Review:
LOVE THE COVER!  I love how it shows the road in the background, and Amy and Roger holding hands is just way to cute!  I love the emphasis on the 'Epic' and how there were little curls on the 'E'.
